Q: How does this Lamberts supplement compare with the turmeric spice in my kitchen cabinet?
A:  You would have to take two heaped teaspoons to provide the equivalent of one tablet of turmeric, but the tablets are also a 95% concentrate of curcumin, the active ingredient. You would need dramatically high amounts of the natural spice to get the same amount of curcumin.

Q: I can see that curcumin would be valuable for 'wear and tear' arthritis but would it help with rheumatoid arthritis?
A: A small trial sought to find the answer to your question. It confirmed that curcumin was effective in reducing disease activity and lowering joint tenderness and swelling. 

Q: Will turmeric tablets help promote weight loss?
A: A common factor in obesity is low grade inflammation. Curcumin has anti-inflammatory activity. Experimental evidence supports the idea that curcumin reduces obesity by reducing inflammation. However it will only be useful as part of a weight loss programme.
