I had my gallbladder removed last year and it has taken a while for me to realise how my digestive abilities have changed.
No one really warns you that this will happen but you soon find out.
I found that after eating I was often bloated and felt a lot of discomfort and this feeling took 12- to 24 hours to pass.
I couldn't predict either what food made me feel this way. There often seemed no rhyme or reason to it.
My sister suggested I try digestive enzymes as she took them from time to time for pancreas and IBS issues.
I have been taking them 3 weeks- just one tablet with breakfast and evening meals as they seem to be my largest meals of the day.
I am also taking one acidophilus tablet the same time mainly because I take omiprazole so wanted to up the levels of ' friendly' bacteria.
All I can say is I have felt much better. Little to no bloating or discomfort at all. Digestion seems far less sluggish.
I am not sure I like the idea of having to perpetually take these things but at the minute I will carry on. They have made a difference for me.
